Education officials in Kosovo have estimated Thursday that the issue of raising the students' knowledge about traffic signs should be added to the curriculum content .
The conference " Students and their safety on the road " , organized by the Forum for Road Safety , in cooperation with MEST and Temple College disclosed the results of research conducted in 40 primary schools and lower secondary schools in Kosovo , where observed a mulligrubs the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical learning development regarding rules and behavior on the road .
Adviser to the Minister Buja , Ragip Gjoshi said that road safety is not only the project , but also a strategic goal of the Ministry of Education , which is designed in all strategic documents .
He stressed that this activity has produced to highlight the fact that the substance be added to the curriculum subjects , which provide information about traffic signs .
" Ministry of Infrastructure should increase care for marking vertical and horizontal road signs and traffic by device , as important factors in preventing accidents . Then , the Ministry of Internal Affairs should be added control and fine violators of traffic rules , and MEST will do more to educate students on the issue of enforcement of traffic rules , "he said .
Meanwhile , the director of the College Tepulli , Muhammad Krasniqi said that the title of the conference " Students and their safety on the streets " makes it clear that research has focused on the issue of movement and behavior of children when they are on the road during departure and return from school .
According to Krasniqi , through this research is the assessment of student skills in primary and lower secondary schools , in recognition of traffic signs .
Otherwise , students involved in this activity are distributed table with traffic signs , where traffic experts have developed tests depending on their age . In the event included over 2210 students from around the country .
In order to progress in school activities , students are divided into three groups , the first group classes 1-3 , 4-6 classes the second and third group classes 7-9 . To spread the project across the country , was selected in each municipality at least one school .
The project has started implementing in March of this year and intends to continue even further , to include the largest schools in the project .
